China is developing faster than the developed part of the world. There are
more and more opportunitites, the compensation are higher and higher.
Letting kids growing up in China but going to international school, do they
become kids who can not fit in the future China? Letting kids going to
American (for example) school but growing up in China, do they become
kids who can not fit in the future America?
You got to admit, there are far more high end talented people in the
developed world than in China. That is one big reason why China is still a developing country.
There are too much competition in Chinese schools, solely focused on tests
and academic areas. But strong academic background after all is the tool to
at least make a living (majority of the people like me is just make a living),
and the rigorous competition may train a kid to overcome some difficulties in
later life.
Even talking academia, the best and brightest are the non Chinese,
Indian (the product of rigorous tests) educated kids. Majority of Americans
don't want to go into science/engineering. In liberal arts areas, America
educated and Chinese educated are not in the same dimension, one is so
much more complex than the other.
Somehow I felt American kids are more humble than the Chinese kids. There
are so much cheating in Chinese schools. How do you explain that, aren't Chinese schools more strict?
Some people might agree Chinese education doesn't lead the way of
personality shaping.
But what has American school done to the majority of the kids: mostly are
only consumers of American products. (For example: more and more 白肉。)
The lists goes on. It is pretty confusing.
What is Chinese 国际学校 like? Can anyone share some insight?
