The Beijing National Stadium, also known as “The Bird’s Nest” will be the main track and field stadium for the 2008 Summer Olympics and will be host to the Opening and Closing ceremonies. The bird’s nest is located on the North of the city just outside the 4th ring road.
The National Aquatics Centre, known as ‘The Water Cube’, is located on the east side of the bird nest. It will be one of the most dramatic and exciting venues to feature sporting events for the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
The construction of “The Bird’s Nest and “The Water Cube” are completed. Workers are putting the final touches to the outside square, the parking space and the streets. From the pictures below, it sure look like this area will be an exciting place during the Olympic game.
