关于收购骑士队一事，有媒体报道称，黄健华背后有香港新世界发展集团的支持。对此，黄健华说，投资骑士队和新世界发展集团并无关系，是香港新世界发展集团主席郑裕彤之孙郑志刚的个人行为，而两人之间则是合作伙伴关系。
11月24日，NBA骑士队华人股东黄健华在长春吉林省宾馆与吉林东北虎俱乐部正式签约，成为第一个从NBA归来并入股CBA俱乐部的球队老板。而在此前不久，姚明的经纪人团队“姚之队”也宣布以托管身份全权接手了上海男篮俱乐部的全部运营工作。
“转播费用和衍生产品是NBA俱乐部的最主要来源，而CBA俱乐部在这两块上很难赚到钱，因此目前并没有真正能盈利的球队。”曾经供职盈方中国、担任上海女篮俱乐部顾问的篮坛知名人士童建强这样告诉记者。他认为黄健华、姚明或许是在等待相关限制解禁的一天。
公开资料显示，盈方每年能够交给篮协650万美元的回报，在扣除联赛运营的各项支出后分发给各家俱乐部。由此，每家俱乐部能够得到的费用甚至不足以覆盖客场比赛的交通住宿费用。
作为回报的是，黄健华刚踏入吉林东北虎，就带来了实力雄厚的赞助商青岛啤酒[32.68 2.73%]。张爱军预计，随着黄健华的到来，吉林东北虎资金紧张的情况将会明显好转。据知情人士分析，黄健华进入CBA的另一大可能是，或许将从CBA中挑出有潜质的球员向NBA“返销”。
1984年，大学毕业的黄健华怀揣着“美国梦”，放弃留校，选择了去哥伦比亚大学攻读东亚经济研究专业硕士学位，之后又学了金融。四年后，黄健华经过五轮考试，进入了纽交所。
进入纽交所的黄健华最初做公关，代表纽交所与媒体、投资者及上市公司打交道。
1991年底，黄健华离开了纽交所，开始给一些超级富豪做财富管理。这部分富豪的身家基本都在十亿美元以上。他们除了聘请瑞银、高盛、花旗等理财机构做投资顾问外，还需要私人管家，黄健华做的正是这种。(PRIVATE BANKING -e.g. COUTTS)
2002年，亚历山大需向前妻支付高达1.5亿美元的巨额费用，黄健华的一位好朋友正好是亚历山大聘请的财务顾问。这位火箭队老板表示，如果黄健华这时投资，应该是个好机会。但由于亚历山大开价5亿美元，黄健华认为不划算。但在长达半年的谈判交流中，彼此的信任使得两人成为了生意伙伴。
把火箭推销给中国这些年,火箭队的中国元素都是黄健华带去的,在火箭队里面,有很多来自中国的赞助商品牌。这是通过现场看球或比赛转播,就能看到的。而很少被人所知的是,在黄健华的帮助下,亚历山大利用火箭和中国的亲近,将自己的投资投放到了中国市场。 中国几个大的公司,比如中铁公司,火箭是其八大股东之一；中国最大的水泥制造商中材料,火箭队也是他们的四大股东之一,他们的投票甚至可以决定现在国资委一些大的决策；安踏是耐克和阿迪之外,中国最赚钱的体育用品,火箭队是其海外最大的股东。
2004年，黄健华又成为纽约扬基棒球队的合伙人，同时担任扬基队在大中华地区的推广工作。
此次黄健华以“最低价格”取得了中国青少年棒球联盟的经营权、培训等权益。对于所谓“最低价格”的说法，该管理层表示，数字只是相对而言的。
这次投资骑士队是一次机会，恰逢骑士队的两个股东出现矛盾，第二大股东退出后，我们就买下了骑士15%的股份。其实这也是要靠机会的，因为NBA各队的股权是不流通的，他们并非上市公司，也就是说如果对方不想卖，你再有钱也买不到。当然，这跟中国市场也是有关系的，毕竟詹姆斯以及NBA在中国受欢迎程度很高。
你这次回中国选择投资中国棒球职业联赛，可是，要知道，这项运动在中国可不像篮球那样拥有广泛的群众基础。
黄健华：对，所以这是一个15年的计划，至少15年。中国有一些历史的原因，18岁以上球员的技术和培训都已经定型了，所以，如果投入在中国棒球成人联赛想出很好的成果，成功率小一点，主要还得看1997年左右出生的下一代。
黄健华：中国还没有体育产业，现在还是举国体制，还是为国争光，拿金牌。当然，这也是振奋整个民族很好的措施。但体育产业是种联动，需要整个产业链能够形成互动。我认为北京奥运会后，等中国人均GDP超过3000美元时，会有质的飞跃。这在世界范围内都是有充分证明的。就体育产业而言，必须由三个因素组成：比赛本身要高水平、很激烈；要有娱乐性，球星很多，他们有很多故事，有很多趣闻；另外，还得大家喜欢看，这样就能在转播时吸引广告跟进，有厂家愿意赞助，转播的费用会越来越高，形成良性循环。
经济观察报：很多人说你收购骑士与其核心詹姆斯是NBA最具市场价值的球员有关。
黄健华：这怎么说呢？既有也没有。一方面，骑士队在未来10年内的固定转播费用已经超过了洛杉矶湖人，在整个NBA仅仅排在纽约尼克斯之后，而转播费又占到一个球队收入的90%，因此，这与詹姆斯以后是否在球队并没有什么太大的关系。詹姆斯在2010年是否会跳出合同，是否离开克利夫兰并不影响我们的投资，甚至从某种程度上说，要是詹姆斯离开了骑士，我的回报会来得更快，因为一旦詹姆斯离去，节省了大量的薪金，可以让我们的分红更多。但另一方面，骑士队能从联盟中最不被人关注的球队——克利夫兰也是全美国最贫穷的地区之一——成长到如今转播价格能够超越洛杉矶湖人，显然跟詹姆斯有关。詹姆斯还很年轻，所以能够一签十年。 (WHAT TO DO NOW?)
黄健华：不管是谁做骑士队的老板，我想第一任务都是要把詹姆斯留下来。否则，压力很大。就像我要收购骑士的消息传出后，各种舆论压力甚至诬蔑、攻击远远超过我的想象，从中国人的饮食习惯一直说到中国人的文化，他们都觉得受不了。对于那些股东们来说，因为有一个这么大的中国市场，有一个合作伙伴，他们是有远见和生意头脑的，所以，即使心里不舒服也不会说出来，会觉得看在生意的份上，大家还可以一起合作。詹姆斯在这里可以得到他想要的一切。他99%的可能性都会留在这里。
黄健华：骑士队目前有几个薪水较高但作用不大的球员将离开球队(指本•华莱士、斯泽比亚克等)，这将为球队腾出接近3000万美元的薪水空间，签下一个重量级中锋是骑士下一阶段的目标，球队总经理丹尼•费里特别喜欢姚明，NBA在不用缴奢侈税的情况下操作球员买卖，球队老板一般是不参与的。如果姚明试水自由球员市场，骑士队会全力争取姚明，费里本人就是个疯狂的“姚明迷”。姚明有两种选择：一种是想赚取更多的薪水；另一种选择就是去一支有能力夺取总冠军的球队。我们不知道姚明的想法，也不知道姚明是否会跳出合同，但姚明一旦到了自由市场，追逐他的球队会非常多。姚明目前还是亚历山大旗下的员工，按照行规，我是不能私下与姚明接触的，这样会坏了规矩。
经济观察报：很多人都说骑士从下赛季起，将成为继火箭之后中国球迷心中又一支主队，因为有你这个中国老板。除此之外，你会考虑引进中国球员吗？
黄健华：这是一定的。从商业价值来说，NBA任何一支球队都不会忽视中国这个市场。另外，更重要的是，如果能给中国国家队以及下一代中国球员做一点贡献也是应该的，毕竟我还是中国人。
竞购利物浦，黄健华有十足把握，“据我了解，目前为止，只有我们一家还在做。”据其确认，至于那家迪拜机构，早在去年已退出。
8亿英镑的收购价格，是中介巴克莱银行开出的，黄健华确信，“我们的收购行为，绝对不会超过5亿英镑。”早在今年初，他的律师团队，就已经对利物浦的价值进行多方估算。8亿英镑，朱骏怎么出？他提出了“融资并购”概念，估计大多数人都听得云里雾里。黄健华提出的5亿英镑，不用愁，他的身后，已有人支持。这一次，不是骑士联盟合伙人郑志刚，而是世界第一大基金富兰克林邓普顿基金会执行副总裁杨光。

谁来当利物浦新老板？苏格兰银行要对此人认可，相信他接手后，能实现还债承诺。其次，要评估两位美国老板的股份，是否抵押给了其他人，抵押利息又有多少。“还清债务后，要对利物浦的人员配置进行构建，起码头两年，每年要投至少5000万英镑……”
“债务都没搞清楚，还买什么球队？这是一个相当复杂的过程。”黄健华估算，竞购成功与否，要到10月底才能见分晓，“还是那句话，我喜欢做有挑战性的事情。”

A Fujian-born local businessman, Albert Hung, is closer to becoming the second-largest shareholder of the NBA Cleveland Cavaliers. A Michigan investment firm confirmed the deal last week.
The purchase of the 15 percent share would make Hung the second-largest shareholder after team owner Dan Gilbert, said David Katzman, Cavaliers vice chairman.
Katzman disclosed it was an all-cash deal, which is expected to be approved by year's end. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal naming Hung as the major new investor followed speculation earlier in the year that another mainland-born American financier, Kenny Huang, would buy a stake in the team.
Hung, who normally keeps a low profile, has pretty high influence.
Born in Fujian province in 1948, he moved to Hong Kong with his mother at the age of 11. Hung started out poor, but developed into a man of substance in political, economic and social circles.
He was involved in real estate, finance, hotels, high-tech, and new energy sources. Hung was also widely recognized as a philanthropist, having given more than 100 million yuan in contributions to charities.
The China Sports Foundation, as one example, was launched with Hung's HK$ 50 million donation to the General Administration of Sports of China in 1994.
Forbes magazine ranked the Cavaliers last week as the fifth most valuable NBA team at $476 million. Buying a 15 percent stake in the Cavaliers hardly seems a problem to Hung.
Hung is keen to promote sports development in China. He holds offices in several sports associations. He is the vice president of the China Sports Foundation, vice chairman of the Major Sports Events Committee, a member of the Football Betting and Lotteries Commission, the president of All Stars Sports Association (Hong Kong), and the vice president and director of the South China Athletic Association.
Hung is also influential in politics. He is a member of the Standing Committee of the National Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
In Hong Kong, Hung was appointed by the HKSAR government as Justice of the Peace, and a member of the Hong Kong Selection Committee responsible for electing the Chief Executive.
Stories about Chinese takeovers of major sports teams abroad also were flying in the UK. The world's biggest football club, Manchester United, is reported to have received a takeover bid by a group of Chinese entrepreneurs. The offer reportedly was turned down by the Glazer family, which owns United, according to a report of News of the World.
Glazer said, "Manchester United is not for sale," even while the club is under pressure to service its mounting debts, according to the same report.
All this inevitably leads to more jerseys, posters, and Nike shoes sold. It also means LeBron has another motive to add to his “reasons to stay in Cleveland” list.
In the long term, this could be a fantastic windfall for the city as an international destination. The number of Chinese tourists visiting America is on the rise, from 376,000 in 2006 to an estimated 579,000 by 2011. Cleveland could potentially attract some of those numbers with the NBA’s premier pla<x>yer and a new casino/resort in the works. If LeBron stays, and if Dan Gilbert’s casino ever “rises up”, he’ll have a business partner in Hung to draw tourist Yuan to Cleveland.
So next time you’re at the Q, order yourself a Tsingtao beer (now available at some concession stands) and prepare yourself for the Chinese invasion. This appears to be a business match made in heaven for Gilbert and the NBA. And for Cavaliers fans, it just might be the deciding factor that keeps the NBA’s best pla<x>yer right here in Cleveland.
