中投和 黄建华有意收购利物浦足球队。真不希望中投再输钱了。
中投最近抛售大摩股票套现3.5亿英镑正好支付该球队的债务。
A spokesman for the sovereign wealth fund the China Investment Corp. told The Financial Times on Thursday that the fund had no plans to help Kenneth Huang, a Hong Kong businessman, buy the Liverpool F.C. soccer team, despite reports to the contrary.
Mr. Huang is the head of QSL, a sports investment company based in Hong Kong. According to The FT, a person close to Mr. Huang said his bid for the English soccer team was backed by a far eastern sovereign wealth fund, without elaborating further.
According to the newspaper, Mr. Huang said in a statement that no formal offer had yet been made.
“There has been much speculation and commentary from a wide array of people, many of whom have little knowledge of the facts,” Mr Huang said.
A person who has worked closely with CIC said there was “no way” the fund would get involved in such a high-profile, symbolic and potentially risky deal.
“Next they’ll say CIC is going to buy Playboy,” this person said.
The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this week that Mr. Huang was in talks for the team. The Guardian reported Thursday that his backer was said to be C.I.C.
Neither Mr. Huang’s company nor the sovereign wealth fund were immediately available for comment.
