The given film is about the origin, formation and development of the Soviet rocket production: from the first five years till the creation of super long-distance modern rockets. The film creators focus their attention on the fate of the Chief Designer who devoted his life to the practical realization of the greatest dream of mankind. Actor K. Lavrov was awarded RSFSR State Prize of the Vasilievs brothers for an outstanding performance of the main role, 1974. The film was awarded the prizes at IFFin Karlovy Vary and the All-Union film festival in Alma-Ata, (1973).
