七律二首·送瘟神（一九五八年七月一日）
读六月三十日人民日报，余江县消灭了血吸虫。浮想联翩，夜不能寐。微风拂煦，旭日临窗。遥望南天，欣然命笔。
绿水青山枉自多，华佗无奈小虫何！
千村薜荔人遗矢，万户萧疏鬼唱歌。
坐地日行八万里，巡天遥看一千河。
牛郎欲问瘟神事，一样悲欢逐逝波。
其二
春风杨柳万千条，六亿神州尽舜尧。
红雨随心翻作浪，青山着意化为桥。
天连五岭银锄落，地动三河铁臂摇。
借问瘟君欲何往，纸船明烛照天烧。

几本影响自己人生的书
1)《毛主席诗词》
毛泽东：“多少事，从来急，天地转，光阴迫，一万年太久，只争朝夕！”
2)《安娜·卡列妮娜》
列夫·托尔斯泰：“幸福的家庭都是相似的，而不幸的家庭各有各的不幸。”
3)《悲惨世界》
维克多·雨果：“只要本世纪的三个问题──贫穷使男子潦倒，饥饿使妇女堕落，黑暗使儿童羸弱──还得不到解决；只要在某些地区还可能发生社会 的毒害，换句话说，同时也是从更广的意义来说，只要这世界上还有愚昧和困苦，那么，和本书同一性质的作品都不会是无益的。”
4)《约翰·克里斯朵夫》
译者傅雷：“在你要战胜外来的敌人之前，先得战胜你内在的敌人；你不必害怕沉沦堕落，只消你能不断的自拔与更新。”
罗曼·罗兰：“圣者克利斯朵夫渡过了河。他在逆流中走了整整的一夜。现在他结实的身体象一块岩石一般矗立在水面上，左肩上扛著一个娇弱而沉重的孩子。圣者克利斯朵夫倚在一株拔起的松树上；松树屈曲了，他的脊骨也屈曲了。那些看著他出发的人都说他渡不过的。他们长时间的嘲弄他，笑他。随后，黑夜来了。他们厌倦了。此刻克利斯朵夫已经走得那么远，再也听不见留在岸上的人的叫喊。在激流澎湃中，他只听见孩子的平静的声音，──他用小手抓著巨人额上的一绺头发，嘴里老喊著：“走罢！”──他便走著，伛著背，眼睛向著前面，老望著黑洞洞的对岸，削壁慢慢的显出白色来了。
早祷的钟声突然响了，无数的钟声一下子都惊醒了。天又黎明！黑沉沉的危崖后面，看不见的太阳在金色的天空升起。快要倒下来的克利斯朵夫终于到了彼岸。
于是他对孩子说：“咱们到了！唉，你多重啊！孩子，你究竟是谁呢？”
孩子回答说：“我是即将来到的日子。”

老子：“大方无隅、大器免成、大音希声、大象无形。”
6) Leo Melamed on the Markets
As quoted from Chicago Fed Letter by Leo Melamed: "At the heart of the economic role of a futures market is risk transfer. Futures contracts provide a way of transfering risk from hedgers who seek to reduce risk to speculators who would bear risk in the hope of profiting by it. Attempts to curb speculative activity ... would also reduce an investor's ability to sell off unwanted risk by hedging."
Leo Melamed: "Futures markets represent financial democracy. They offer an open marketplace for investment and speculation where everyone has a right to an opinion. Some opinions are more qualified than others. How qualified you become depends on you alone. [This final frontier of free capitalism] is still open ... where the victorious have the satisfaction of knowing they have no one to thank for success except their own intellect, fortitude, and capability. And the reward can certainly justify the effort and risk involved."
7) Free to Choose
Milton & Rose Friedman:
"The United States is the result of two separate but interdependent miracles: an economical [one] and a political [one]. Each of which resulted from the implementation of a separate set of revolutionary ideas. Both sets of ideas -- by curious coincidence -- were formulated in documents published in the same year, 1776.
One set of ideas was embodied in Adam Smith's The Wealth of Nations, a masterpiece of economic thought. It established that an economic system could succeed only in an environment that permits individuals freely to pursue their own objectives for purely personal gain. As a consequence of such pursuits, the individual, when taken in mass, will be led by an invisible hand to promote an overall social good.
The second set of ideas, drafted by Thomas Jefferson, was embodied in the Declaration of Independence. It proclaimed a new nation -- the first in history to be established based on a set of self-evident truths: that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights; that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.
The success of the United States is a consequence of the combination of these two basic ideals: economic freedom coupled with political freedom. The ideals are inexorably intertwined. One without the other cannot work."
