always love reading your articles....I left my home and started my boarding school life at age of 12 or 13. I've hardly lived with my parents or my siblings ever since. It was my choice to switch to that school, because 1) the school was the best in my area but far away from home; 2)i couldn't wait to get out of the house though i had all my parents' love.
Even though it was my decision, i had very lonely teenage years. I felt very lonely through college years as well. I had some pretty close girlfriends and even boyfriends. However, for some reasons, I always believed that I would never get married. But I was lucky, i met my husband and got married at a young age...hehe, life is interesting  .
I believe the boarding school experience at early years had profound affect on one's adulthood life. i've heard cases when the kids don't have emotional bond with their parents. For me, it is not the case. I am very close to my parents and siblings. However, I personally will not send my kids to boarding school....at least not until they are ready.
