Position: Asian Technical Sales Support (metal Fabrication / Construction Tooling)
U. S. based manufacturer of cutting tools seeks a Western national with either a North American or E.U. passport to serve as our Asian Technical Sales Support Representative. Prefer candidates who currently reside in either mainland China or Taiwan. Working out of an office in their residence, the successful candidate will be responsible for the technical support of distributors and end users of the company’s products. This position reports to the Asian Regional Sales Manager, who works out of an office in his residence in Hong Kong. Under the direction of the Asian Regional Sales Manager, this position will train customers and end users on the specific functioning, capability and value of the company’s product offerings. This position will also resolve any quality issues and advise management or any customer concerns. The essential job functions, skills, experience, education and license requirements are as follows:
Essential Job Functions:
• Works frequently with end users and customers to solve product application problems and to run product performance and trial tests. Conducts “hands-on” training and demonstrations.
• Conducts in-plant (customer) seminars on product knowledge application and performance as well as machine maintenance and operation procedures for optimum performance.
• Keeps current with technical advances in materials separations, sawing machinery and competitive products. Interacts with Research & Development teams to conduct tests of new or improved products.
• Performs limited repair services to make sawing equipment operational to achieve optimum product performance. Performs service and repair on distributor welding equipment.
• Develops appropriate relationships with end users, distributors, sales representatives and support personnel. Manages these conflicting priorities to achieve customer satisfaction, customer retention and the increasing of sales volume of existing accounts.
Essential Skills and Experience Requirements:
• Fluent in English with the ability to function with other Asian languages, cultures and business practices.
• At least 5 years of technical sales support of industrial or construction products. Prefer experience with fabricated metal products, with cutting, grinding, abrasive, carbide-tipped materials, drills and mills most desirable. Experience in maintaining and adjusting industrial equipment is most helpful.
• At least 5 years of international business experience. Overnight travel can be up to 75%.
Education:
• Prefer technical training in metal fabrication and machine operation
Licenses:
• Must be authorized to travel and work in the US on a temporary basis, and Asian countries on a regular basis.
