Our Client
Our client is a leading international investor in the energy sector with significant China assets. They seek a senior FD for their majority investment in a large and modern power station in Southern China. The role will be ba<x>sed at the companies regional office in Southern China and NOT at the plant.
Job Description
Reporting to the Group CFO in Hong Kong you will lead the entire finance function of a large and modern power station and facility – one of the largest in Southern China.
You will take responsibility for
Develop the appropriate accounting policies, treatments and procedures for the China-invested joint venture (JV) with reference to the Company’s policies and procedures, Government relations, tax department regulations and PRC and international accounting practices.
Define and implement an internal control system aiming at striking a balance between control and efficiency, to ensure that Company policies and standards are being followed, and the integrity of all the Company financial information is preserved.
Direct and control the compilation and monitoring of capital and operation budgets, prepare variance analysis and financial forecast. Establish and direct the budgetary control procedures.
Direct and control all treasury functions of the JV. Have good understanding of the Chinese banking systems and relevant regulations, foreign exchange markets and financial instruments.
Job Requirements:
To qualify you will possess the following:
Minimum 8-10 years working experiences in big MNC or Audit Firm. CPA or equivalent qualification is essential.
University graduate in Finance, Accounting or relevant disciplines.
Big-4 experience or Energy sector experience is highly preferred
Strong familiarity with IFRS, PRC GAAP and financial instruments
Fluency in English preferred. Mandarin essential
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Self-motivated and strong business acumen.
Will consider regional candidate with proven working experience in Southern China.
