Job Title: Software Diagnostic Test Engineer
Location: Shenzhen, China
will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to develop detailed diagnostic tests for our innovative consumer products. You will work closely with the kernel, diagnostics, operations, hardware, QA, and user-space teams to test and diagnose to the component level for both software and hardware. You will maintain and update diagnostic test for existing and new products. You must be excited about quality, able to function independently, and willing to work in any areas of Quality Assurance as necessary to ensure delivery of a world-class product of the highest quality. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment. The Amazon kernel team is responsible for the delivery and maintenance of a high-performance, low-power, stable platform.
Responsibilities:
- Write test plans, cases, and conditions for manual testing of products.
- Assist with improving existing manual and automated tests, processes, and tools.
- Help mentor other testers in testing and Best Practices.
- Support hardware and operations departments with implementation of hardware revisions and new products into manufacturing.
- Analyze problems discovered on the assembly line and report to the appropriate departments with clear, concise, and repeatable test cases.
- Support Quality Assurance department initiatives.
- Reporting regular status of testing.
- Recording and tracking defects through Web-ba<x>sed tools.
- Work with the hardware team to ensure correct exercising of hardware.
- Work with the user-space teams to ensure an adequate level of functionality and reporting.
Qualifications:
- At least two years experience doing hands-on software test development, with at least one year of experience writing hardware diagnostics.
Linux shell programming.
- Understanding of embedded development constraints.
- Data analysis and debugging skills a plus.
- JTAG debugger experiences a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent, Master’s Degree a plus.
- Ability to occasionally travel internationally.
- Linux on ARM CPUs a plus.
- C/C++ programming a plus.
- Bootloader experience a plus.
