Job Title: Staff Software Engineer
Location: Beijing
Position Description:
Spirent Communications is looking for a Staff Software Developer Engineer for delivering high quality software products The successful candidate will be part of team developing application software for Spirent's industry leading wireless device test systems. This includes the integration of hardware and software. The successful candidate will implement new products as well as enhancements to existing products and have leadership responsibilities. Product areas include systems and system components used for testing wireless devices (LTE, UMTS and CDMA) for compliance to several industry standards. The primary focus of the position is on the test specifications and the associated application software that controls the test equipment to manage the test procedure and test results.This position is based in Beijing, China.
Major Responsibilities:
• Software Architecture
• Development including specification, design, implementation and design verification or software and/or system components.
• Analyze wireless standards from 3GPP, 3GPP2 and other technical forums Fully understand the requirements from customers and product managers
• Lead detailed design of test solution using well defined software practices and techniques
• Implement the test solution using high level languages such as Visual Basic. C/C++ and .NET. Troubleshoot complex technical problems which involve software and hardware systems.
• Create technical design documents, and source material for user documentation
• Take initiative to improve product development process and productivity.
• Provide technical guidance to team members

Education and Experience
• BSEE/BSCE required. MSEE/MSCE highly desired.
• Master degree with minimal 6 years related working experience, or bachelor degree with minimal 8 years related working experience, in wireless telecommunications
Requirements (Must Have):
• Strong knowledge of structured software design practices.
• Strong familiarity with LTE/UMTS/CDMA wireless communication. In-depth knowledge of L2/L3 procedures and the utilization of them is highly desirable.
• Experience with design verification testing of wireless terminals is desired;
• Strong knowledge of structured software design practices.
• Candidate must have working knowledge of Microsoft .NET and/or object oriented design and programming.
• Motivated, self-starter who likes challenging work.
• Possess strong problem solving skills and team-oriented approach.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills are also needed in this position.
Below requirement are desired:
• Experience of wireless testing instrument operation, like Spectrum Analyzer, Power Meter, Network Emulator, Signal Generator.
