RAE Systems Grabs Chinese Electronics Safety Firm
May 4, 2004 - RAE Systems Inc announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a 64% interest in KLH (Ke Li Heng), a privately-held Beijing-based company for a purchase price of US$9 million. KLH is a manufacturer and distributor of security, environmental and personal safety monitors and equipment.
Beijing-based Digital Clothing Institute Opens
May 4, 2004 - US-based Xybernaut Corporation and Beijing CyberNet Institute (CyberNet) yesterday announced completion of an agreement to combine Xybernaut mobile/wearable computing solutions with CyberNet applications for the media, entertainment and government sectors. In addition, the two companies are to go ahead with plans for a research and development institute that will concentrate on wearable computing solutions.

Data I/O Establishes New China Presence

HVD Alliance Established By 19 Enterprises
April 30, 2004 - It is being reported in the Chinese media that the HVD Alliance, also called the High-clearness Video Disk Industry Alliance, was formally established in Shanghai on April 28 by 19 enterprises from the industry, including Skyworth, Changhong and TCL, for the purpose of seizing a larger market share in the new round of DVD market competition.

April 30, 2004 - Ericsson has signed two mobile network expansion deals in Sichuan Province, Southwest China, valued at over US$120 million.
Sina Reports Non-Advertising Revenue Growth
April 30, 2004 - Sina.com grew net revenues this last quarter by 128.5% year-over-year to a record $41.4 million. Non-advertising revenues for the quarter grew by 161.4% year-over-year and accounted for 68.3% of total revenues. The company made the announcement yesterday for the first quarter ending March 31, 2004.

April 30, 2004 - During a financial quarter that saw the company slapped with a Wells Notice from the SEC and greater competition from portal rivals in China, Netease.com managed to scrape together a 66.8% increase in revenue year-over-year and 15.5% quarter-over-quarter to RMB186.8 million (US$22.6 million).

Cirmaker Acquires Stake In Shaanxi New Century Electronics
April 30, 2004 - Cirmaker Technology Corp., which manufactures set top boxes for digital TV signal reception, CPU coolers for computers and electronic components, today announced that it has signed an agreement with the Shaanxi Ruyi Electric Co. relating to the purchase of a 66% stake in Shaanxi Ruyi Electric's subsidiary, Shaanxi New Century Electronics Co., which will manufacture set-top boxes (also known as digital receivers) that receive signals from satellites and do not require cable connections for the mainland China television market.
MII Completes Bidding Process For Remaining 3.5 GHz Frequency
