DESCRIPTION
The Human Resources Director- Greater China will lead the HR function of an organization that has close to 5,000 employees, and multiple sites across China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. He/She will be a highly-experienced and articulate human resource professional with a minimum of 12 years’ HR experience, of which 3 years must have been spent in a senior management role. He/She will have considerable exposure running an HR function in a large multinational or foreign joint-venture company with significant manufacturing operations in the Greater China region. His/Her experience should have been gained from corporations known for HR best practices, and where the function is viewed as an integral part of the management process. The successful candidate will have a good developmental path to senior HR roles at the company’s corporate headquarters.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Human Resources Director- Greater China will be responsible for taking the company’s already well-established HR function to the next phase of development. He/She will be responsible for all HR activities related to the commercial, service, and manufacturing teams. He/She will develop initiatives in fine-tuning the overall HR structure and processes, and create human resource strategies focusing on the areas of recruitment and training, compensation & benefits, organizational development and employee relations. Broadly, the duties will include the following:
Establish HR processes for business units at various stages of development in the region.
Build and maximize organizational capability by enhancing human resource strategies to directly impact business results.
Lead an HR team of highly qualified generalists and specialists.
Develop communication strategies and promote employee relating across the organization.
Lead and facilitate change in the organization to ensure continued business growth.
Review and improve compensation & benefits, and training & development programs to ensure that they are aligned with business objectives, and are competitive with external HR practices.
Act as a coach to senior executives on personal and team effectiveness.
Plan, implement and fine-tune career planning, succession planning, management development and performance management programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 12 years HR experience, with a minimum of 3 years spent in a senior management role.
Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
Solid China HR experience gained from a multinational corporation.
HR generalist experience within a manufacturing environment.
Proven track record of success in managing a multi-site HR organization.
Must be people-focused, approachable, and multicultural.
Must have good influencing skills and a diplomatic communication style, combined with a firm and assertive personality.
