Electrical Engineer – Xbox Console
Job description:
• Understand design changes and provide build support at factory
• Track production problems and FA on the failures
• Drive unresolved problems to the appropriate dev groups
• Communicate to manufacturing team on process related failures
• Identify test deficiencies and work with corresponding group to improve test coverage or screening.
• Provide feedback to factory on failure diagnostic
• Deploy and evaluate new tests and debug tool at the factory
• Conduct targeted experiments at factory for FA and quality improvement
Requirements:
• Bachelor degree in electrical engineering
• 5+ years in industry
• Experience in system FA and mass production ramp
• Knowledge in computer architecture, system design and manufacturing environment
• Ability to understand scripts and software programs
• Familiar with data analysis tool and database (e.g. SQL, JMP)

Software Development Engineer for Test
Job description:
Microsoft's Home and Entertainment Hardware Software Group is looking for an experienced Software Design Engineer in Test.
• Primarily responsible for create and automate test plan and cases, maintenance, modification, and additions to existing automated test cases, own feature(s), drive small release engine. In addition, create tools to optimize test automation. Test cases are written in C# and/or C++.
• Candidates need to have strong programming skills in C#. Java experience can be substituted for C# experience if C++ skills are strong. C++ experience is preferred but not required.
• Software testing experience is required. API testing experience is preferred. Experience with writing test automation is required. Experience with owning features, release engines (as they will be running one), managing resources are required.
• Experience scheduling and planning releases is a huge plus

Firmware Engineer
Job description:
• Responsible for all firmware design, implementation and performance for processor-based designs, including functional and EMC compatibility;
• Develop firmware specifications, firmware schedule;
• Specify & acquire firmware dev tools needed and contract for any prototype development platforms needed;
• Participate with EE in processor selection, and develop processor component specification;
• Release firmware for delivery to processor mfr and assist in FW section of product specification;
• Drive firmware review processes, and coordinate compatibility with SW team and OS groups as necessary. Deliverables: Firmware Specification, Firmware Schedule, Firmware Files, Component Specification, Firmware Review Docs.
Requirements:
• Master degree with majored in electronic engineering with three years experience.
• Strong vendor management capabilities.
• Experience with 8-bit / 16-bit / 32-bit microcontroller firmware development.
• Able to use emulators; logic analyzers; oscilloscopes and other standard lab equipment.

Reliability & Component Engineer
Job description:
• Analyze product usage environment and review/modify reliability spec;
• Develop reliability test plan and ORT Matrix;
• Review design concepts, organize design FMEA and identify potential reliability concerns/issues;
• Review and approve critical component specifications.
• Conduct or review reliability and component tests to validate the integrity of the design and manufacturing quality. Deliverables: Reliability spec, FMEA (reliability), List of potential design issues, Reliability test plans and reports, system On-going reliability (ORT) plan. Specs of critical components, component qualification and ORT reports.
Requirements:
• At least MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics;
• Fluent spoken and written English;
• Deep knowledge in statistics, failure analysis, design of experiment (DOE), design FMEA;
• 5 years working experience in reliability engineering, quality control, and hardware testing of electronic components and systems;
• Good English communication skills and willing/able to travel to USA.
EMC and Product Safety Engineer
Job description:
• The EMC and Product Safety Engineer is responsible for EMC and Product Safety Compliance. They are the subject matter expert for all the Product Safety & EMC issues for Microsoft Hardware (PC & Peripherals);
• Work closely with other development engineers (Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, ASIC, Firmware and Industrial Design) as well as with other disciplines not related to engineering such as Product Planners, Marketing, User Assistance, Legal and Localization to ensure the product meets all expectations for more than 72 countries;
• Develop Product Safety & EMC plans and is an expert at project planning (providing resource estimates for each program and manage actual spending);
• Other duties include obtaining worldwide regulatory approvals to meet project specific objectives, works with the EMC Manager and other disciplines to improve methods and processes by developing design guidelines, review check lists, procedures, templates, etc and collaborates with design and manufacturing partners as well as EMC and Safety vendors;
• The qualified candidate will engage with a portion of the Product Development team and is responsible for identifying and mitigating risk related to electrical safety.
Requirements:
• 5+ years experience as an EMC and Product Safety Designer for consumer electronic devices (PC Input devices or Medical devices);
• 3+ years design experience with USB, RF and wireless design and test;
• Highly motivated individual with strong project orientation and communication skill preferred.
• 10+ years total industry experience preferred;
• Expert-level safety and EMC standards and regulations applicable to I.T. equipment required;
• Strong written and verbal communications skills and also capable of delivering crisp content to to Senior Staff;
• Ability to work in a team environment utilizing strong cross-group collaboration skills;
• Experience dealing with and influencing worldwide regulatory agencies;
• Experience working with International vendors a plus. Experience working with manufacturing vendors in Asia preferred;
• 3+ years experience as a project manager on projects that are full product life-cycle – from conception to retirement (managing 3+ people, 50k-500k projects);
• BSEE required. NARTE certification for EMC or Product Safety preferred.
Software Development Engineer for Test – Manufacturing Test
Job description:
• Microsoft Xbox Test Engineering is expanding in China. We are looking for a key technical contributor on the fast paced, high energy team responsible for developing and maintaining test equipment software for the Xbox 360 game console.
• The position will be part of the Microsoft H/W team in Shenzhen; and collaborate with the test engineering team in the USA to develop, deploy, and solve problems with software for factory test equipment.
• The candidate must not only know how to write low-level code to interrogate specific hardware features, but also be able to work cross-functionally with SW and HW engineers.
• This position will work closely with key manufacturing partners on significant advances in design, engineering, manufacturing, and test of high volume products.
Requirements:
• This position will involve delivering complex projects and solving technical problems under pressure and quickly learning new hardware from the kernel/ driver OS levels.
• Self motivation and ability to solve ambiguous problems is required. Candidate must have superior problem solving skills.
• Very strong C/C++/C# skills required. Experience developing tests for hardware testing and/or programming low-level software to control hardware is preferred.
Ethernet, SQL, and database skills desirable.
• Require strong verbal and written technical communication skills in English and Mandarin.
• Must have good interpersonal skills. Cantonese skills a plus.
• Occasional lifting and/or carrying objects (40 pounds maximum)
• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronic Technology, or equivalent field of studies with at least 3 years working experience.
• Job location at Microsoft Asia Center for H/W (MACH) in Guangdong, Shenzhen; and will require frequent travel to manufacturing facilities located in Guangdong Province.
