The Dow opened the day with early weakness this morning, but snapped back from lows and rallied before ending the day lower by 42 points, as seen in the 15 Minute Chart. The index basically traded within a clear 200 point range and continues to build out at the bottom of a large triangle pattern, which we will continue to watch tomorrow.
The Daily and 60 Minute Charts show the Dow continues to build out the large triangle pattern that is now six weeks in the making. Eventually, a breakout from this pattern could spark the next major move of about 1,100 points. Look for the index to continue to build out within the boundaries of this pattern until a solid breakout occurs.
Watch 11,400 and 11,200 for early direction tomorrow. A break through 11,200 and 11,600 will signal a breakout from the triangle.
