China approves Huaneng, CITIC Pacific's wind power project in Inner Mongolia

BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - The National Development and Reform Commission said it has approved construction of a 300,000-kilowatt wind power franchising project run by Huaneng Group, CITIC Pacific Ltd and others in northern China's Inner Mongolia region.
The state planner said the project involves a total investment of 2.64 bln yuan with the parent of Huaneng Power International (nyse: HNP - news - people ) holding 51 pct, Hong Kong-listed CITIC Pacific taking 20 pct and Inner Mongolia Power Investment and Beijing Guohua Power Investment holding 19 pct and 10 pct respectively.
The wind farm has a designed annual generating capacity of 860 mln kWh.
The project has a 25 year franchise operation period, the commission said.
