He obviously did something, otherwise he would not have made money. ). To a certain degree, it certainly precipitated the devalution process. But in an indirect way, it also helped Southeast asia countries. The harding landing acutally was better than soft landing, at least it led to structual reform and bank got rid of a lot of bad loan, without severity of the crisis, I seriously doubted it would've happened. Look at Russia, Russian economy is in much better shape than what would'be happened if they took things slowly.
