剃头店 at Nanjing Xi Road. One so called 发型师 gave me a long list of services they provided. I just told him I needed a very basic haircut and I even confirmed the price of 25 rmb with him. He asked me if I needed a special kind of shampoo； I told him if my price included that I may consider. He said no, it would cost 15 rmb more. Then he asked me if I need hairs to be 吹风，I asked him how much extra and was told 15 rmb more. I gave him a flat no. That guy made the comment that I watched my money very closely. I said jokingly ya, otherwise my money goes to your pocket before long. After everything was almost done he asked me if I needed my ears to be dried/cleaned. I said of course because my ears were wet when the girl washed my hairs. When the bill came it showed 35 rmb instead of 25 rmb. I asked him how come it was 10 rmb too many. He said cleaning one ear costed you 5 rmb； you got two ears, so it was 10 rmb more. I responded saying "I am so glad I had only two ears!" This was the only time I didn't ask price about drying my ears. There are so many tricks and traps you have to be really careful, especially if you don't look like the local.
