From the viewpoint of moral, why 小胖 urges and threatens 刘秉义 to divorce his original wife and marry with her? Is it too aggressive? we should consider man and woman equally, right? Both are pleased with passion and love. Why does the man need to sacrifice his freedom and time for her? He belongs to the society, he could use his time to contribute more for the public.
From the viewpoint of law, why suspect can not be 全国政协委员? Do you have clear and proven evidence to arrest him? If no, he is innocent of the crime, right? Why not give him an opportunity to make contribution for the public, only because someone doubt that him is a murderer? Can them prove it?
In conculsion, everyone is innocent unless there is true proof that he/she is guilty for the crime, whatever his background is.
However, people can speak out their doubt and ask for truth.
This should be encouraged. Anyway, the result of death is bad, but sometimes we should think about it the real situation in depth.
Generally speaking,
In China, 宁可错杀一千，不可放过一个. This is bad.
In the US, 不能根据不充分的证据而冤枉好人. This is good.
However, when human fight against bird flu, they usually 宁可错杀一千，不可放过一个.
