Role and Responsibilities:
Enterprise Information Quality Assurance team provides functional quality assurance for the DataScope family of software products. We have an open position for a Quality Assurance Engineer with strong skills in software quality assurance testing, teamwork, and communication.
• Design, develop, maintain and execute test cases / test procedures.
• Understand product functionality, data content, and system architecture of the product being tested.
• Understand the customer and how the product will be used by that customer.
• Understand product software development and working within the release cycle to meet the set deadlines.
• Demonstrate strong skills in designing and writing test cases and test procedures for a wide variety of tests including functional, automated, performance, and regression.
• Tracking and managing defects.
• Reporting on testing status and results.
• Understanding new technology and testing methods and being able to integrate those to benefit the team and our projects.
• Act as team liaison between NY and Beijing QA teams.
• Coach and train junior QA engineers.
Qualifications
• BS/BA
• 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience.
• Experience designing, developing, maintaining and executing test cases / test procedures.
• Experience with product software development and working within the release cycle and meeting the set deadlines.
• Understanding of or experience with Mercury Quality Centre or similar test management tools.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Good written & oral communication skills are mandatory.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Experience and the ability to thrive in a cross-cultural / multiple timezone work environment.
• Flexibility with working hours to accommodate multiple timezone work environment (for example adjusting work day hours slightly to be available for meetings with employees in another timezone)
• Desire to share information and train others is essential.
• Honest, open, passionate, positive "can-do" attitude, self-sufficient.
• Ability to rapidly absorb new concepts - either technological, or industry related.
• Ability to establish external/internal resources to aid the team in reaching its goals.
• Ability to read and analyze technical documentation and apply it to testing tasks.
