Job Description: The PMO manager reports to the Regional Program Manager and to account Delivery Executives. The candidate must be a self motivating person who can set and achieve their own goals with the minimum of supervision and direction. They must be able to gain the respect of programme and project managers as their major role is to integrate all projects and programmes to provide an enterprise view; and to provide the Project Management Standards to ensure successful delivery. Experience as a project manager successfully delivering major projects or a good track record of performing a similar PMO role in a major enterprise is essential.
Responsibilities:
· Oversight of all Project performance
· To develop, implement and maintain the Enterprise Project Integration process
· To develop, implement and maintain Project Management Standards
· To leverage the Company’s global project management processes and tools
· To actively participate in the regional project management community
Capabilities:
Expertise in project integration. This entails:
· Developing and implementing an Enterprise Project Integration process which describes how to identify project interdependencies, develop and maintain an Enterprise Integrated Schedule, perform enterprise risk and issue management and manage critical resources.
· Working collaboratively* with project managers to develop the Enterprise Integrated Schedule.
· Maintaining the Enterprise Integrated Schedule and utilizing it to provide early warning of project slippage and highlighting the need for corrective action.
Expertise in defining and implementing Project Management Standards. This entails:
· Adapting the Company’s methodologies and the external global project management community’s best practice to package and implement a full suite of Project Management Standards.
· Providing support and guidance to Project Managers and PMO Managers on the application of the Project Management Standards thereby ensuring programs are characterised by well defined requirements, approved unambiguous scope, managed schedules and costs all maintained through effective change control.
· Properly documenting and maintaining the Project Management Standards.
Expertise in Relationship Building. This entails:
· Working collaboratively* with peers, project managers, Customer Relationship Managers and clients at multiple levels within the organization.
· Meeting commitments and building trust.
· Developing positive working relationships.
*Working collaboratively means:
· Demonstrating synergistic behaviour through knowledge sharing, interaction, and innovation.
· Providing value add contributions.
· Sharing knowledge, expertise and problem solving abilities in a timely manner to enable others to increase their effectiveness and to remove barriers and bottlenecks.
· Enhancing communications across the enterprise projects.
The ideal candidates are those experienced project managers who have demonstrated strong commercial and business leadership skills, with an understanding of the IT industry as an advantage.
