Customer Support Manager

Location: Beijing China,

Description:
Manages customer support services and technical solutions of product problems. Ensures the customer satisfaction. Provides technical leadership to the team. This person would also be responsible for the Human Resources activities of the Support Team, i.e. employee motivation, development, evaluation, and administration.

Responsibilities:
1. Manages customer support activities and ensure customer satisfaction:
• Organizes support resources and activities to meet customer needs
• Provides planning and scheduling of personnel and resources to assure efficiency and employee productivity
• Ensures support services and solutions are completed on time and with solid quality by following the support process
• Facilitates communication upward and across team including issue/request status, justifications for changes and technical information
2. Provides solutions or workaround to product problems:
• Directs the resolution of product problems including providing resolution or workaround
• Manages the process of delivering support services to customers
• Provides technical supervision to support engineers by analyzing customer problems, reviewing solution proposals, and make decisions
3. Serves as focal point for other departments and customers:
• Communicates the customer status or other support information to other departments, upper management and customers
• Interacts with customers and product management in defining the support solutions. Provides feedback to marketing and product management about the feasibility of projects and solutions.
4. Manages personnel activities of staff (i.e., hires, trains, appraises, rewards, motivates, disciplines, etc.)

Requirements:

• Post Secondary Degree of Diploma in Computer Science or a related field
• Requires solid experience in managing customer support with proven track record of managing customers and support issues.
• Advanced technical knowledge in system software management and development
• Strong technical background in a variety of technological areas across different platforms and extensive experience of Unix, Linux and Windows systems development
• In-depth working experience in Grid computing or distributed systems
• Excellent time management, people management, communications, organizational, leadership and decision making skills
• Management experience or sufficient training in management skills
• Minimum 5 years technical experience in software support or development, and 2 years of experience in a team lead or management role
• Oversea working experience would be a plus;
