and now moving some of the R&D to China are because their cancer drugs in China are extremely profitable--profit margin over 95%! Besides, China has far less regulation than US.

Layoffs after 3-5 years of M&A are quite normal, and companies usually have layoffs in the same times, so that their key employees have less chance to hop to other companies.

Big Pharma are far more stable than most others, though they may lose the good old times of having half day lunch! Mr. Green
