We are talking about two different matters. Most of people know speed to market is crucial in retailing. That is for retailers with a successful business model and mature supply chain. For someone starting in retail, it is impossible to open a chain of hundreds of stores. Again, for someone who is really interested in retailing, go to any large mall in a large US cities, look at all the stores and think about what you can duplicate in China. Start with one store and accumulate experience. If your first store is very successful, it would be much easier to attact investments than a fancy business plan.
