Mind though in Hongkong and Singapore, English is the official thus native language. This could be one of the reason returnees to those area have to rely on skills other than English. In China, even today, people with good English skills, especially those well spoken, may sill be is huge demand. Therefore, I would make suggestion to the future returnees: if you have to work for others in China, try to find a position that requires certain communication capacity in forgein language that is in your favor, otherwise the likelihood of being replaced by a local worker will be much higher.
