while PRC newspaper said 8% Shanghai girls married foreigners. Although Beijing and Shanghai each has at least a quarter million imported pretties called 北飘 and 沪飘, Shanghai reportedly has 100K foreigners, 200K from Hk and 300K from Taiwan while Beijing has soooooo many powerful people and their offspring. As for Shenzhen and Guangzhou, there r far too many local riches and those from HK/Macau.
All the above make much, much, much less pretties possibly available to returners/turtles.
In contrast, Chongqing newspaper just said the 30 million Chongqing people have 6 million working away from their home, of which 2 million r working in Chongqing city. On the other hand, only half a million people in Chongqing with non-Chongqing 户口 and only less than 2000 in Chongqing r from overseas, including HK and Taiwan.
Therefore, the actual difference in Shanghai/Chongqing QQ ratios is not 1 vs. 4. I believe it could be 0.1 vs. 10!!!
