I consider myself a travel photographer. I take pictures of interesting things and places. Therefore, a 18-200mm (which is equivalent of 25-300mm for 35mm film camera) is exactly that I will need.
I realize long ago, I am not a good portrait photographer as I have no genuine interesting in people. I am not a landscape or wild life photographer as I do not have the time and patient to wait for the right light condition.
I agree that the contrast and saturation are better from D70s than 995. When I was comparing these two sets of photos, I can hardly see the progress that I have made during the past 5 years. I have shot more than 100,000 pictures during that time frame. This can mean two things:
1: I am really a slower leaner
2: I reach a level that is very difficult to improve. The progress is only determined by my own artistic nature (which is very difficult to improve despite the fact that I visit art galleries and museums often)
